Design Installation & Aftercare of a New Central Heating System at Python Hill School, Ollerton

Brief:

To design and install a new central heating system, comprising of over 100 radiators, 4 independent zones and replacement hot water calorifiers to satisfy legionella requirements.

DCR was the main contractor headed by our building services department. This oversaw the following works completed all in house:

• Mechanical heating system installation, including the installation of a 4 boiler Viessmann cascade and multiple digital heating zones. To comply with the changes to PART L of the building regulations during this installation the system design was altered to ensure the system can provide 22 degrees internal air temperature with a surface temperature of no more than 50 degrees.

• Mechanical hot water installation.

• Flue system design and installation.

• Building services including making good of plastering and brickwork.

• Installation of new flooring and replacement ceiling structures to accommodate for new pipework.

This school operates from the latest weather compensated technology and digital heating zones. Improving pupil and teacher comfort while reducing gas consumption. This system is also heating pump ready.

Hot water calorifier designs and installation. This provides the school kitchen and washrooms with high pressure hot water and balanced cold water services meeting the latest Legionella requirements.

Demonstrating how DCR can complete a full turnkey’s project using our own dedicated team. New heating system throughout the school, with joinery and decoration. Flooring and ceiling construction was completed by our building team as well as the new heating pipework design and installation.
